I discovered a fun way to learn how to generate wealth when I first started my path to success a couple of years ago.

Before I had achieved financial success I had come to believe that wealth was a lot of hard work and years of education if you were not born with a silver spoon in your mouth.

One of the fun ways I learned how to become thinking like a successful business entrepreneur was to play a board game, called "Cashflow". It is created by Robert Kiyosaki, a best selling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad series of books.

My husband and I started to play this game on Saturday nights along with friends and family members. Both Warren, my husband, and I truly got the whole idea of starting business partnerships and thinking of better ways that generate income passively, so that we have the mindset of having wealth coming to us in monthly payments and not having to work for a paycheck.

This game truly is designed to help reduce your inability to make decisions, increase your confident level in discussions about finances, and increase the total awareness of how many different ways you can create wealth in your life. If you want to be a millionaire/billionaire, you have to open your mind to their way of thinking. By playing the game over countless times, you are creating new thought patterns. You are thinking like a millionaire! In the game, you are making business decisions over and over again and the repeating action generates a more confident ability in making decisions outside of the game and in your every day life.

Financial success in life is all about making decisions on the spot. When faced with a decision, the longer it takes you to make the decision, the more likely you will talk yourself out of making the decision, which actually is a decision. Not making a decision is the same as saying no. Business entrepreneurs make decisions all the time. To become a millionaire you need to be comfortable with your decisions.

So now you have a tool in your tool box. If you want to think like a millionaire get the game and start playing it, a lot. It truly is a fun way to think wealth creation.

Okay, so you decided that to get control of those bills you need to get some extra money working for you. You have already looked at changing jobs, changing careers, and you keep coming back to this thought.

It really is quite natural to come to an idea like becoming your own boss, working from home, not having to deal with parking!!! Yes, working from home does sound good, but what would be ideal? Most people would at this point look around them for clues.

#1. Mentors. Do you know of anyone working from home? Most likely not. For they are home and not commuting back and forth like you. Those people shop during the day, not on the way home from work! Get proper information from those who make lots of money! Don't get advice from someone who makes $25K a year.

#2. Resources. There are lots of books on the book shelves about working from home, starting businesses, networking, investing, etc. The very first book we purchased was Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. This booked opened up our eyes about the way we earn money and how to create wealth properly. It started us on a reading bonanza. The internet has lots of information available but by reading first, you are educating yourself, for us, it was the first step.

#3. Your business-- is it selling something or providing a service? Pretty simple isn't it? You are either selling a product to someone for money or providing a service to someone for money. The point is we get money from other people. You will have to be able ask people to pay you. Can you do that? So now you have to decide what type of business you want to part of. This is the fun part! Your search. Remember to focus on what it is you do want, to have a financial goal so that you get a business that is a perfect match to what you want.


Important note: Line up credit to start a business. If you were to start a home business without a source of capital you will have to fund the business from your own pocket, which is not a wise thing to do. Have a business plan with the list of expenses you will incur during your first 12 months of business. Borrow the money which will cover ALL expenses including borrowing enough to pay the cost of borrowing!
